Excellent poster, I presume this follows the regional surgical meeting where this model was suggested. This has reduced your admissions significantly, shorter waiting time for families and saving money. A rare win win!
Definitely. There was hesitation initially for the proposal, but soon the effect were evident; PAU was not bogged down with “surgical patients” waiting for surgical review, blood results or US abdomen slot!!

Excellent work. We see most of our abdominal pains before referral to surgical team at St Helier Hospital. This does mean that higher staffing levels might be needed especially in a busy PAU unit. Comments?
