Regarding Vitamin C, the patient was given 500mg vitamin C orally for a week followed by 250mg once daily for 1 month. Symptoms resolved after 4 days of oral supplementation.
Regarding vitamin C monitoring, it’s not routinely done nowadays as all PN bags supplied are multilayered bags which will not allow Vitamin C to degrade completely and the remaining level within those bags would be sufficient for the daily requirement.
If you have any further queried please don’t hesitate to contact me.
How vitamin C was supplemented and has the levels being checked in other HPN patients in your cohort?
