This is very interesting and thank you for the presentation. How bad was the psoriasis? Was this standard psoriasis distribution or a variant?
I just don’t recall ever seeing an IBD patient presenting with anti-TNF induced psoriasis. Do yo have any further insights as to whether this may be a cluster phenomenon and related to streptococcal local strain infections? Serology might be helpful, but I only refer to the association between guttate psoriasis and streptococcal infection.
Having an alternative biologic to turn to is very important and a helpful message.
Thank you for your comments.
-Anti-TNF induced psoriasis is well described in adults and paediatric populations.
Infliximab-Induced Psoriasis and Psoriasiform Skin Lesions in Pediatric Crohn Disease and a Potential Association With IL-23 Receptor PolymorphismsSherlock, et al 2013.
-All patients in our study group were seen in deramtology clinic and psoriasis was confirmed. None of them was identified to have skin infection.
-Our study sample was small. Multi-centres study with larger study sample will be ideal.

Great poster.
Good to hear – psoriasis induced by anti TNF is difficult.
Does your Trust’s budget fund the cost of Ustekinumab in this age group (while waiting for paediatric studies & research evidence base) ?
Thank you Dr Protheroe, Yes, providing they meet the Blueteq criteria – which is a “funding approval form”, trust funds the treatment.
Funding application have been successful for all Ustekinumab patients In our trust funding approval form required for all biological treatments including anti-TNF
